Welding Training Needs to Evolve — Beyond VR and Simulators

Welding is a hands-on skill. Real arc, real torch, real metal. While VR simulators offer virtual practice, they can't fully replicate the complexity of live welding. But traditional training faces its own challenges when scaling: limited instructor time, growing student demand, and difficulty tracking progress.

RocketWelder introduces a new category: real welding, enhanced by AI-driven analysis.

What If We Could Scale Expertise?

Instructors remain at the center of welding education. RocketWelder helps scale their expertise: every welding session is captured and stored, torch movement, angles, speeds, and positions are recorded in detail, both students and instructors can review sessions anytime, with visualizations that highlight technique and consistency. This allows instructors to supervise more students simultaneously while maintaining high teaching quality.

Welding Training Station Reinvented

RocketWelder captures torch trajectory, angle changes, travel speed consistency, position relative to seam. Each session can be fully replayed with visual overlays, helping trainees better understand their technique and instructors to target coaching precisely.

Use Cases

  • Welding Schools: Certification and training, increase supervision capacity, provide objective progress tracking.

  • Training Centers: Certification and training, standardize certification programs, reduce instructor workload.

  • Small Businesses: Certification and training, certify welders in-house, ensure consistent quality.

  • Remote Training/Certification: Enable remote practice with centralized expert review.

Covers Standard Welding Positions (EN ISO 6947)

Welding Training Station supports a wide range of standard welding positions used in both plate and pipe welding:

Plate Welding Positions:

  • PA – Flat

  • PB – Horizontal-Vertical

  • PC – Horizontal

  • PD – Horizontal Overhead

  • PE – Overhead

  • PF – Vertical Upwards

  • PG – Vertical Downwards

Pipe Welding Positions:

  • PH – Pipe position for welding upwards (fixed pipe, vertical up)

  • PJ – Pipe position for welding downwards (fixed pipe, vertical down)

  • PK – Orbital welding

Inclined Pipe Welding Positions:

  • PH-L045 – Fixed pipe inclined at 45° upwards

  • PJ-L045 – Fixed pipe inclined at 45° downwards

For pipe welding applications, station shall be expanded with an orbital positioner to support complex pipe welding scenarios.

Key Benefits

  • Scalable supervision for limited instructor capacity

  • Session replay and visualization for better self-correction

  • Quantitative skill metrics for objective progress tracking

  • Remote session review enabling location flexibility

  • Exportable video records for certifications (digital proof)

  • Sharable clips for social media and recruitment purposes

Early Access via Kickstarter

Welding Training Station will launch its first production units through Kickstarter. Early adopters will benefit from discounted pricing while helping us refine and scale the platform based on real-world feedback.
